The precise re-entry time and location of debris impacts have not been determined. During the re-entry period, the satellite passed from the east coast of Africa over the Indian Ocean, then the Pacific Ocean, then across northern Canada, then across the northern Atlantic Ocean, to a point over West Africa. The vast majority of the orbital transit was over water, with some flight over northern Canada and West Africa.
Who wrote this ? A paranoid told not to say much ? This is an idiot press release for bubble headed bleach blonds to read. Anyone with satellite tracking software or watching it live, knows this.
If they don't "know" where it went by Monday, write your Congressional occupant and tell it that you want NORAD, PAVE PAWS and NASA funding ended since they're obviously unable to do their jobs.
UPDATE: NASA is getting touchy as they continue to stonewall the people who pay them:
This is your source for official information on the re-entry of UARS. All information posted here has been verified with a government agency or law enforcement.
You see, besides running a radar test, NASA thinks the false construct "al Qaida" (actually their Paperclip engineers' Muslim Brotherhood) or other "rogue" elements will use the information of how precisely they know where all the pieces fell to attack them and the next time, get them fired as they weren't on 9/11. Unless pressured, they'll keep lying.
EARLIER: NASA is lying.
Update #15
Sat, 24 Sep 2011 03:46:42 AM EDT
NASA’s decommissioned Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite fell back to Earth between 11:23 p.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 23 and 1:09 a.m. EDT Sept. 24. The Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California said the satellite penetrated the atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean. The precise re-entry time and location are not yet known with certainty.
That's a lie. PAVE PAWS mission is to track all space debris and its impact. The map at right isn't even current with upgrades that have occurred since, with more slated for FY12.
Don't think that the circles are to scale. The Cape Cod radar penetrates over Europe.
PAVE PAWS is an Air Force Space Command radar system operated by three 21st Space Wing squadrons for missile warning and space surveillance. PAVE PAWS radars are located at Cape Cod Air Force Station, Mass., and Beale Air Force Base, Calif.
PAVE is an Air Force program name, while PAWS stands for Phased Array Warning System. The radar is used primarily to detect and track sea-launched, intercontinental ballistic missiles and supports space situational awareness.
The Beale AFB PAVE PAWS Radar was recently upgraded to an Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) to support the co-primary Missile Defense mission. Cape Cod radar is being planned for an upgrade to start in FY12.
The system also has a secondary mission of earth-orbiting satellite detection and tracking.
Information received from the PAVE PAWS radar systems pertaining to SLBM/ICBM and satellite detection is forwarded to the U.S. Strategic Command's Missile Warning and Space Control Centers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, Colo. Data is also sent to the National Military Command Center and U.S. Strategic Command. Missile Defense data is sent to the GMD Fire Control Center (GFC/C)...
The radar system is capable of detecting and monitoring a great number of targets that would be consistent with a massive SLBM attack. The system must rapidly discriminate between vehicle types, calculating their launch and impact points in addition to the scheduling, data processing and communications requirements. The operation is entirely automatic, requiring people only for monitoring, maintenance and as a final check of the validity of warnings. Three different computers communicate with each other from the heart of the system, which relays the information to Cheyenne Mountain and Missile Defense forward users.
Clearly, PAVE PAWS covers the Pacific. Its mission is to watch space debris, satellites and their impact point, and NASA is run by liars. Additionally, allies and partners could see more.
The station at RAF Fylingdalers was originally built at the height of the Cold War to track any incoming ballistic missile attack - a role it still performs.
An RAF spokeswoman said: 'The Space Operations Room at Royal Air Force Fylingdales is manned 24 hours a day by specialist Royal Air Force and civilian personnel, and its operators will be working to track the UARS object as it returns to the atmosphere.
'The Solid State Phased Array Radar is being tasked by the United States Air Force and the Royal Air Force to concentrate its radar energy towards the object in order to track its final orbit
The self-propelled
Sea-Based X-band (SBX) Radar
platform has been in operation since August, supposedly permanently after repairs. What is the big secret, NASA ?
