K index is 6: chicken or egg ?

Yes, the K index goes to 6 on its own. It's just that the sun is essentially dead, and grant-parasite scientist arguments that it's going nuts are nonsense for idiots when you look back on SFI indices of over 200 ten years ago while it's 90 now.
